Brief History

The Hutz Group of Companies was founded in the 1970’s by German Entrepreneur Wolfgang Hutz and as the business grew, so did its focus.

From initially concentrating only on lighting, the company expanded to include entities focusing on Medical Device Manufacturing (Hutz Medical), Hospital Refurbishments and Upgrades (Hutz Hospi-Tec) as well as an Engineering Division (Hutz Engineering).

In 1999, Hutz Hospi-Tec was established and concentrates on hospital projects, upgrades and refurbishments.

Proudly South African, the company is a Level 2 BBBEE contributor and has its head office based in Port Elizabeth, with satellite offices run in other major city centres including Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town.

The Hutz Hospi-Tec Team encompasses a wide range of expertise, which assists in ensuring that the implementation of specific hospital requirements and standards are met, while providing a cost-effective solution.

Our team is here to assist and meet the needs of the client and South African healthcare industry through their range of professional services, which are tailormade according to the unique needs and requirements of each project.

Hutz Hospi-Tec was pleased to welcome Dr Jacky Rampedi to the company, in the position of Director in 2017. Having started the Phelang Bonolo Healthcare Group more than 20 years’ ago, Dr Rampedi brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with him.

Quality, attention to detail and innovation remain of the utmost importance for the Hutz range of products.  With this in mind, Hutz obtained ISO 9001 in 2004, followed by ISO 13485 certification, CE Marking and MCC License. Hutz is also BBBEE compliant.

Today, the Hutz family has grown to include more than 80 employees and the family philosophy is still firmly intact. Rather than just a place of employment or a job, our employees see each other as a family, working together to meet and achieve a common goal.
